At Saint Giles, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact as part of our broader mission of social responsibility. By integrating sustainable practices into our operations, we aim to reduce harmful emissions and inspire others to adopt environmentally responsible habits. Our current medium-term goal is to reduce our carbon footprint by 5% over the next 4 to 5 years.
Our Approach to Carbon Reduction:
Waste Management: We follow the 3R approach—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—aiming to transform waste into a resource with multiple uses. By promoting recycling and using recycled products, we help reduce landfill waste, lowering methane emissions.
Environmental Awareness: We educate our employees, partners, contractors, and service users about responsible utility usage and recycling. By adopting a circular model, we ensure that our waste contributes to another’s resources.
Actions Taken So Far:
- Replaced fluorescent tubes with energy-efficient plastic tubes.
- Retrofitted all globes with LED lights.
- Installed energy-efficient timers for geysers.
- Actively recycle plastic, cardboard, metal, and paper to minimize landfill waste.
