Saint Giles offers bursaries for disabled individuals pursuing secondary or tertiary education in the Durban Metropolitan Unicity. These bursaries aim to support students whose physical, mental, or social abilities are restricted and who need financial assistance to further their studies and improve employment opportunities.

Established in 2006, the Saint Giles Educational Trust provides bursaries to disabled individuals who are pursuing secondary or tertiary education. Our bursaries are specifically designed to assist those who face physical, mental, or social challenges and are looking for an opportunity to pursue education and find suitable employment. We believe that education is a powerful tool for creating opportunities and fostering independence.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Saint Giles Educational Trust bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be affected by a condition that significantly restricts their ability to function physically, mentally, or socially.
- Show that education or training could provide a solution to securing suitable employment.
- Demonstrate financial need for assistance with education fees.
- Be 16 years of age or older.
- Reside within the Durban Metropolitan Unicity.
- Must be enrolled at a recognised secondary or tertiary institution in Durban.

Closing Date for Applications
The deadline for submitting completed bursary applications is the end of July in the year preceding the academic year for which funding is sought. Please ensure that all application forms are filled out correctly and completely, as incomplete applications will not be considered.
Bursary Value and Duration
The value of the bursary is adapted to meet the specific needs of each student. Bursaries are awarded for the full duration of the chosen course, supporting students as they complete their studies.
