About the Centre

Since its refurbishment in 1998, the Sport Slade Memorial Remedial Therapy Centre has grown to meet the increasing demand for specialised rehabilitation services. With extended hours and two separate sessions daily, we continue to provide personalised care for our patients. Our centre is staffed by highly qualified professionals, ensuring each patient receives a treatment plan tailored to their needs.

Comprehensive
Rehabilitation Services

The Remedial Therapy Centre offers a wide range of exercise therapies for individuals recovering from conditions such as paraplegia, quadriplegia, and partial paralysis. We focus on both active and passive resistance exercises, along with regular blood pressure monitoring to ensure optimal patient care.

Our Therapy Services Include:

Active and Passive Resistance Exercise Therapy

Personalised exercise programs designed to improve mobility, strength, and overall physical function.

Blood Pressure Monitoring

Regular health checks for patients as part of their ongoing rehabilitation program.

Access to Total Access Equipment

State-of-the-art fitness equipment designed specifically for wheelchair users, ensuring all patients, regardless of mobility, can participate in therapy.

Innovative Tools for
Effective Rehabilitation

Our centre is equipped with cutting-edge rehabilitation equipment that allows us to address a wide range of disabilities. With the generous support of donors, we’ve acquired equipment like the Total Access range, Motomed machines, circumduction beds, parallel bars, and more. These tools help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and cardiovascular health.

Key Equipment Includes:

Circumduction Beds:

Stretching routines for improving mobility and flexibility.

Parallel Bars:

Essential for patients relearning how to walk.

Arm Crank:

Helps stroke patients regain shoulder mobility and strengthen upper body muscles.

Electric Tilt Table:

Supports paraplegics by allowing weight-bearing through their legs, promoting bone density and circulation.

How to Access Our Services

To attend the Remedial Therapy Centre, patients must be referred by a registered Medical Practitioner or Physiotherapist. Following a medical referral, our Centre Manager will conduct a Preliminary Assessment to design a personalised exercise therapy program.

Referral Process:

  1. Obtain a referral from a Medical Practitioner or Physiotherapist.
  2. Complete a Preliminary Assessment at our centre.
  3. Begin your tailored rehabilitation program with our expert team.
